white paper

White paper, also written as 'white paper' or in Dutch 'white book', stands for a document with detailed information on a specific subject. Factual information is often placed in context with the subject or target group.


central parties

Companies that earn money by offering their services to you. If your crypto is held by these parties and the company goes bankrupt, you may lose your crypto.


Platform

A platform is a (digital and smart) organizational model that uses a shared basis of standardized organizational building blocks: technologies, infrastructures, agreements, competencies and standards or protocols on the basis of which multiple applications can be developed.


learn and earn

A way for major crypto parties to let you learn more about cryptos and blockchain. By learning information on their platform, you receive compensation that is paid by the central party of the platform or by the party to which the information relates.


Save

Setting aside part of your income instead of spending it right away is what we call saving. This is important to prevent short-term financial problems. But also to be able to make fun or important expenses in the future.


To strike

Staking basically means that investors lock cryptocurrencies, for which the staking process is supported, in a certain contract, or simply on an exchange and are paid out periodically as a reward. Not every cryptocurrency can be used for staking.


Lend

In standard language, lending means 'temporarily putting it into use'. Lending is not standard language in the sense of 'being put into use temporarily'.


Stablecoins

A crypto devised by companies to maintain the rate of a currency. In theory, 1 USDT is always the value of 1 US Dollar.


Trade

Buying and selling shares, cryptos or other investments with the aim of making a profit.


To invest

Investing is a sacrifice of time, effort or money to achieve a goal. This goal lies in the future. For example, you can invest in companies, development of areas or in yourself.


Shares

Shares are participations in the equity of a company. They are therefore also proofs of ownership of a (proportional) part of that company and gives the right to a proportionate share of the profit that the company makes.


DCA

Dollar Cost Averaging (DCA) is an investment strategy where, regardless of the current market price, you spread your bitcoin purchases over a longer period of time with the aim of reducing the impact of volatility. DCA's ultimate goal is to pay a more average price.


Bots

a software program that performs automatic, repetitive, and predefined tasks. Bots usually imitate or replace the behavior of a human user. Since they are automated, they work much faster than human users.


The farm

Making cryptos available to a platform through which other people can trade. A reward is usually given for this.


Speculate

Speculation is the buying and selling of securities with the hope of making a quick profit. This could be a week, a day or even a few minutes. Speculators (people who speculate) respond to an expected rise or fall in the price.


Mines

Often, with each new block, an amount of cryptocurrency is put into circulation by automatically being allocated to the finder of the block. This is sometimes called "mining" new monetary value. Finding a valid block is called mining.

Blockchains

What is Proof of Stake? Proof-of-Stake is the validation of transactions and the creation of blocks on the blockchain by means of staking (staking) crypto coins. Unlike Proof-of-Work, where transactions are validated through the use of computer power.

A digital wallet, also known as an “e-wallet,” is an electronic device, online service, or software program that allows one party to conduct electronic transactions with another party that exchanges digital currency for physical goods and services.


Dividend

Dividend is the part of the profit that a company pays to its shareholders. Shareholders are entitled to the profit because they are co-owners. The only legal forms that can pay dividends are a BV and an NV. The more shares someone has, the more profit that person can receive.

Volatile

The term used for the volatility of a security is volatility. When an underlying asset has a stable price, and therefore hardly moves up or down, it has low volatility. A security that moves wildly has high volatility.


central banks

A central bank is a public institution that manages the currency of a country or group of countries and controls the money supply – literally the amount of money in circulation. The main objective of many central banks is price stability.


Stoploss

A stop-loss can be used to limit risk by automatically closing a position once it reaches a certain loss level. There are different types of stop losses, namely a normal stop, a trailing stop and a guaranteed stop. The other type is a stop entry.


Leverage

Leverage is the use of borrowed money (debt capital) to increase the expected return on equity (also called leverage effect or leveraged loan in Dutch, gearing in Great Britain). Leverage is measured as the ratio of total interest-bearing debt to total assets.


Brokers

A broker, also called a stockbroker, is an independent person or company that organizes and executes financial transactions on behalf of another party. Brokers can do this in a variety of asset classes, including equities, forex, real estate and insurance.

 

Mining Parties

Companies that make their money from mining cryptos such as Bitcoin. They invest in specialized equipment and thus help ensure the security of the network.


Balance

The balance sheet is an overview of the assets, debts and equity of your entity, such as a company, institution or person. The balance sheet consists of two columns that must be in balance with each other.

In short, AI is a collective term for algorithms and methods that perform tasks that were thought to require human intelligence.


Trading pair

The two types of products traded opposite each other. For example, ETH/BTC means that the value is expressed in Ethereum against Bitcoin.

Liquidity mining is a mechanism or process in which participants supply cryptocurrencies into liquidity pools, and are rewarded with fees and tokens based on their share.
